Dr. John Betts formerly from the Boeing Company and the Aerospace Corporation offered us a wonderful talk on Friday May 1st entitled Rocket Science: 101, A Work in Progress. John is the author of the widely cited book Practical Methods for Optimal Control Using Nonlinear Programming. He drove with his wife and their two dogs all the way from Oregon to offer us his talk.
